What information we collect from the people that visit our website

If you decide to participate in the Extreme Memory Challenge test, you will first be asked to enter your email address. You will later be requested to provide basic demographic information, such as age, sex, and ethnicity. This will not include a request for personal details such as your full name, physical address, or social security number. Because taking the test is free, you will also not have to submit any sensitive financial or credit card information.

When we collect your information

We collect information from you when you register for the test and during the testing procedures.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect from you to allow us to complete the testing procedure, to analyze the data, and to potentially contact you if your performance merits further analysis and you have not opted out of such communications. The results from any studies provided on the Site may be published for scientific purposes, but your identity will be kept confidential.

How we secure and protect personal information

We implement and maintain reasonable security practices to protect against the unauthorized access, use, modification, destruction or disclosure of your personal information. Personal information will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law. Organizations that may inspect and/or copy this information for quality assurance and data analysis include researchers involved in the study and the Aspire Independent Review Board (IRB).

Cookies

We use browser tracking cooking in connection with our services, primarily to confirm the return of a participant in the testing phase of our research study. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a website. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a website or web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you decide to block cookies, our Services and data analyses might not function correctly.

How we respond to Do Not Track signals

Your web browser may enable you to indicate your preference as to whether you wish to allow websites to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites. At this time our site does not respond to the preferences you may have set in your web browser regarding the collection of such personal information.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your identifiable information, unless such transfer is for purpose of research and is under reasonable security measures. Information that we collect from XMC visitors is a business asset. As a resource to our visitors, we may provide links to other web sites. We try to carefully choose web sites which we believe are useful and meet our high standards. However, because web sites can change so quickly, we can't guarantee the standards of every web site link we provide or be responsible for the content of non-Par web sites.
